It was my pleasure to design and create this two-tiered cake for a lovely lady celebrating her 40th birthday. It was so relaxing and meditative to pipe different succulents in varying shades of green buttercream and adding gold accents.
The Birthday Girl was surprised with the cake as a gift from a dear friend. Moved to tears she was in awe of the surprise, the design and the taste. When she called me during her celebration to extend her appreciation, I sang her a personal rendition of the Happy Birthday song.
We made each other’s day. I am so very grateful to have such magic moments in life by touching others with my creations.

I love flowers and created these flower themed goodies, pastel and vibrant to catch the eye as well as please the palate.
During the lockdown, creating them shed beauty on what’s an ugly situation for us all, that I hope soon will come to an end.
Meanwhile I’m enjoying spending lots of time with my family. Although homeschooling my daughter was a real challenge, I was very proud of her and the regular progress she made. Despite her being reluctant at times to accept Mommy as Teacher, we managed to have a silver lining amidst the clouds.
Erin Hanson’s quote paints a lovely picture...and hit the nail on the head of my sentiments exactly as follows:
"She sprouted love like flowers, grew a garden in her mind, and even on the darkest days, from her smile the sun still shined."

CAN'T BAKE FOR
2 SPRING EXHIBITIONS
I was very excited to create wonderful and yummy Mommy's Love Easter and Springtime Treats for two exhibitions: namely the Kunsthandwerk Exhibition in Münchenbuchsee and süss the Sweets Fair in Köniz.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately Münchenbuchsee was cancelled and the süss Fair had to be postponed until October 24 and 25, 2020.
I'd planned an assortment of cakes, cupcakes and cookies full of flavor and lots of playful fantasy that never got a chance to be realized.
EASTER TREATS 2020
Nonetheless I did bake a few festive goodies for customers and to enjoy at home with my family.
Hoping for sweet relief from this sour situation for us all soon. Please stay healthy and stay home.

Here are some sweet creations that Mommy's Love presented at the 4th Adventsbasar in der Elfenau in 2019. Over 20 exhibitors with lovely and creative products enchanted the visitors of the event that took place for the first time in the sunlit greenhouses of Stadtgrün Bern.
It was a lovely 2 day event and I was very proud to have my daughter Joya join me with her debuted "Jo-Jo's Doggy Treats" - homemade healthy snacks for dogs. We shared the Dog Theme in our products. She was a wonderful and cheery vendor who won over many a customer with her natural charm and love for dogs.

The "Advent Bazaar in the Elfenau", the pre-Christmas market, is a platform for creative, unique and exclusive handmade products and an oasis for Christmas present seekers in the familiar and festive atmosphere of the inviting Parkcafé.
Numerous visitors have been enchanted by the wide range of products on offer over the past two years. Pre-Holiday cheer was again spread at the second Advent Bazaar in the Park Cafe Elfenau on November 26th. Mommy's Love was glad to host and welcome sixteen diversely skilled vendors presenting their crafts to the interested visitors who weathered the snow to be there. The atmosphere was lovely: Delicious food & drinks were on offer from Carol Meile, Pantea Amiet of P3 decorated with great style, a Gospel Flash Mob from my choir project "Rhonda Dorsey's Gospel Experience" pleasantly surprised the visitors and I performed three sets with my trio. Mommy's Love presented an array of holiday treats pleasing to the eye as well as palate. Time really flies when you're having fun. When it was over it seemed to have only just begun. Can't wait till next year's event on November 25th, 2018. See you there!

LET'S PLAY AND THEN EAT CAAAKE!!!
Mommy's Love created this Custom-made Soccer Cake for a great day of fun and games among friends with a yummy reward-time at the end of play-time.
This Moist Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Italian Meringue Buttercream, Semi-sweet Chocolate Ganache and Custom Made Topper was quite a fun challenge.
I was pleased with the outcome and very happy to present it to the gracious host of the party who served it to her guests as a surprise reward well earned after an afternoon of energetic ball playing.

HOW SWEET IT WAS!...
MOMMY'S LOVE at "süss", the first Sweets Fair in Berne on April 1st & 2nd, 2017! Over 2000 visitors came and 40 stands showed a great variety of craftsmanship and artistry in sweets. See the flashback video of the Mommy's Love stand above.
The recipe for the Mommy's Love Funny Bunny Cookie Pops was featured on the report of the local TV channel TeleBärn.
What a lovely weekend it was, thanks to the organizer Karin Trüssel-Abplanalp, the süss team, the many enthusiastic visitors and last but not least, the skilled and creative exhibitors.

I had the great pleasure of hosting my first Wedding Cake Tasting for a very lovely couple. The couple was so excited, that they arrived 20 minutes early to taste what they hoped would be their dream cake to enjoy and to serve their guests on their very special day in July.
I prepared three cake compositions, incorporating inspiration from Italian cuisine, for them to choose from for their Venice themed ceremony.
Would it be cake number 1:
A Prosecco Cake filled with Mango Confit and Mango-White Chocolate Ganache?
Would it be cake number 2:
A Vanilla Cake filled with Dark Chocolate Ganache, Passionfruit Confit and Passionfruit-Vanilla Buttercream?
Or would it be cake number 3:
A Cornflour Lemon Cake filled with Strawberry Confit, fresh Strawberries and Vanilla-Bean Buttercream?
Aaaand the winner is, or better said, the winners are Cake 2 and Cake 3. The gracious couple was very keen on these two flavors and couldn't choose between them, so they chose to have them both.
I'm very much looking forward to creating the dream wedding cake for this dreamy couple.

This birthday cake was ordered to celebrate little Rafael's second birthday. He's fond of giraffes, so I created my signature XL Chocolate Cookie Billboard Topper with a giraffe enjoying his pacifier, which the birthday boy is also fond of, according to his Mom. The giraffe and name plate are both printed with edible ink. The chocolate cake is frosted as well as filled with aromatic orange Italian meringue buttercream. The foilage is piped buttercream. And the finishing touch is a border of yummy Maltesers.

My holiday baking was kicked off at the Advent Bazaar in the Parkcafé Elfenau, which Mommy’s Love hosted with a group of friends. Various vendors presented lots of creative handmade crafts and delicious homemade delicacies for all the senses. Mommy's Love baked goodies, like festive cakes, cupcakes & cookies, were clad in their holiday best for the palate's pleasure.
Thereafter I filled several orders and created some new designs as gifts for customers, my family and friends throughout December.
My daughter even got her hands in and helped bake too. She made some pretty nice original designs of her own (see the gallery above) and we had fun getting stuck into the dough. Can’t wait until next season.

This Mommy's Love News Gallery is chock full of all the goodies I baked and decorated for my sweet daughter's fifth birthday in October. She's a fan of all things chocolate, pink, blue and My Little Pony.
So I had lots to be creative with, to play with and to juggle around on the five times she was celebrated. That rendered two chocolate
cakes and two dozen cupcakes with silky smooth chocolate frosting, chocolate drip, fruity raspberry frosting, blue colored vanilla - white chocolate buttercream, meringue drops and swirls and decorated cookies galore.
I wonder what her sixth birthday cake's theme will be... At the moment her heart is set on a Princess and Pirates Party. Hmmh, I have a few sweet ideas already:-)

In September I decided to try my hand at a new and trendy style of cake design, the "Drip Cake".
Check out the pictures and see my take on these towering confections, measuring 25 cm and 30 cm high. I really enjoyed designing the custom made decorations like chocolate shards and meringue drops and swirls that adorned the buttercream filled and frosted cakes. Applying the chocolate drips was exciting as well as courage demanding. These cakes are definitely suited for those who aren't fond of fondant, yet love a lovely decorated cake with true taste all the same.

The merry month of May granted Mommy's Love the pleasure of creating custom made cakes and cupcakes for a host of diverse celebrations spanning 3 to 70 years. Mega! My May baking merriment was kicked-off by two custom made cakes for Boris Pilleri's Jammin', celebrating 40 years of gracing audiences with his feel-good Blues, authentically sung & played on his guitar. After the great concert at the Mühle Hunziken, family, friends & fans enjoyed champagne & cake honoring Boris & his top-notch band. The next cake was a Lightning Mcqueen Cake for little Namo, celebrating his 3rd birthday. Then came the surprise Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky Cake for Jacek, visiting from Poland & celebrating his 50th birthday. The Polish wish happy birthday by saying "100 Lat" meaning "may you live 100 years".
Then the Open Book Cake was created for Brigitte, who's an avid reader celebrating her 70th birthday. And lastly the Spiderman Cake for Dylan's 3rd birthday was created along with Spiderman Cupcakes to match, which he shared with his nursery school friends. Wow, so was Mommy a' bakin' in May or what? Yeeees she was & it was my pleasure. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to make so many people happy while celebrating their special day with goodies created by and with Mommy's Love. On May 1st, officially Labor Day, my husband, our daughter and I happily labored in our home and especially in the kitchen from 7am until our friends arrived for Sunday Brunch at 11am. Our daughter, excited to welcome our friends, helped decorate the table, made the seating arrangement & prepared her toys to be shared with her little friend. Meanwhile Daddy and Mommy prepared the following: mini omelets with bacon, parmesan & oregano, salmon, scallions & dill and spinach & feta, an assortment of cheeses, jams & chestnut-honey, smoked ham & salmon, french toast with maple syrup, fresh baked, homemade buttered plait bread, drinks a plenty including O.J., of course coffee & tea, as well as a fresh twist on the beloved Mimosa; Prosecco with blood orange juice popsicles. After satisfying our appetites with the savory & a tad sweet, we dove into the very, berry desserts: Passion fruit & Lemon Mascarpone Mousse Creams garnished with blueberries & strawberries and last but not least... taa-daa...the Four Berries Naked Cake which topped all off by sweetly enrobing our palates with flavor & freshness. FIREMAN'S CAKE
For a dear friend's son's 28th birthday, it was my pleasure to create this Fireman's Cake as a surprise! I had lots of fun with the details, like the eagle, the shield & the yellow tetrahedron reflecting decals. Necessity played mother of invention and gave birth to the aquamarine water flowing from the hose, which is actually vanilla flavored salted candy. Mmh-mmh, packed with a yummy extra treat to boot...
My mommy-friend said, "My son was speechless. The cake was perfect & a delicious surprise!. You are just awesome, Rhonda!"

I had the honor of displaying this cake at Salon Sugar Paris March 12th -13th, 2016. The cake was an entry into the contest for peace themed cakes hosted by Cakes Against Violence & Imane (C'est Crop Bon Chez Vanille & Le Meilleur Pattisier). The contest was a second act of solidarity by cake designers worldwide ensuing the November 13th attack in Paris in 2015, which happens to be my birthday.
What a sweet way to demonstrate peace!
What a privilege to have participated in this act of love in Paris!
